- 1 Sandwich Griller or a simple Non Stick Pan
Ingredients
- 8 slices Sandwich Bread
- 2 Chicken breast or thigh
- 2 tbsp Lime Juice
- 1 cup Fresh Cream
- 3-4 tbsp Milk
- 1½ tbsp Oregano powder
- 2 tbsp Chili Powder
- 5-6 Cloves Garlic or 1 ½ tbsp Garlic powder
- 1 Onion large
- 3-4 Cheese Slices
- 3-4 tsp Black Pepper Powder or according to heat tolerance
- Salt to taste
- Lettuce
- Mayonnaise
- Butter
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
Instructions
Marinate the Chicken
- First, wash the boneless chicken thoroughly and cut them into small cubes.
- Transfer them into a bowl and add lime juice and vegetable oil.
- Marinate the chicken nicely. Cover and let it rest for about 2 hours.
Prepare the Stuffing
- Finely chop the garlic if not using garlic powder. Keep it aside.
- Cut the onion into half and slice them into thin slices. Keep it aside.
- Take a pan and add butter.
- Let the butter heat and then add the chicken cubes to the pan.
- Add salt to taste and fry them until cooked thoroughly.
- When done transfer them into a bowl. Keep them aside.
- In the same pan add butter.
- Let it heat and then add the sliced onion and sauté it until caramelized. Keep the flame on medium.
- Now add the finely chopped garlic (skip this step if using garlic powder).
- Sauté the garlic nicely until golden brown and the raw scent is gone.
- Next, add the oregano and chili flakes and stir them nicely until fragrant.
- Add the fresh cream and stir consistently. Keep the flame on low.
- Stir everything continuously for about 30 seconds. After this add the garlic powder if not using finely chopped garlic.
- Now, add the cheese slices and keep on stirring until everything comes together and the cheese melts completely.
Add the chicken
- Now, add the chicken cubes to the pan.
- Combine all the ingredients well.
- Take a taste test.
- Add salt to taste. You can also add a splash of milk if it is too thick and sticks to the pan.
- Stir everything until a thicker consistency is achieved. Transfer it to the bowl.
Prepare the Sandwich
- Take 2 slices of bread and put a thin layer of mayonnaise on both slices.
- Now place a washed lettuce leaf on the mayonnaise side of one slice.
- Gently place the stuffing on the bread and sprinkle some black pepper powder.
- Now place another slice on top and gently press it from the top.
- Do this with the rest of the slices and keep them aside.
Grill the sandwich
- After this, take a sandwich griller or a grilling pan (you can also use a simple non-stick pan).
- Add some butter and let it heat. Brush it on both sides if using a sandwich griller.
- When the butter is heated properly, place the sandwich on the griller and grill it until both sides turn golden brown.
- Do this with all the sandwiches.
- When done, cut the sandwiches diagonally and serve them hot.
